"What is the best wine that East Valley Vineyard can create?" was asked; and the seed was planted. The first step was to leave behind any pre-notions of remaining "true" to varietal characteristics, but pay attention to what tastes best. Next, we gathered barrel samples of all of our 2003 premium wines. After careful measuring, blending and tasting, Fusionnay was created -- a unique blend of Syrah, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
About the wines:
- 50% Edna Valley Syrah -- Deep fruit with spice and elegance.
- 25% Santa Ynez Westerly Merlot -- Don’t listen to Miles, this fruit has depth and structure of any classic Bordeaux.
- 13% White Hawk Sangiovese -- Ripe fruit with concentrated rich flavors.
- 12% East Valley Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon -- Multiple medal winning fruit, added flavor intensity, cassis and blackberry.
Sensory Evaluation: Cherry, plum, dark fruit, full bodied with supple richness, on a long finish and young soft tannins.
